“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Proverbs 22:6 NIV

For Children

Our care for children begins as soon as they are born. A nursery, staffed by two childcare workers, is offered during Sunday School and Worship, as well as other congregational events.

We invite children ages 4k – 4th grade to sit in the “Children’s Corner” in the sanctuary, after the “Children’s Message.” One Adult will be sitting with the children, and age appropriate activities will be provided for children that go along with worship.  Parents will pick up their children after the service.

A nursery is provided during all worship services for infants and toddlers (0-3 years old). Generally older children (4 years old and up) attend the first part of the worship service with their families. After a brief sermon designed especially for them, a children’s leader will escort them to the Children’s Corner or they may return to sit with their parents for the remainder of the service. Shortly after beginning 2nd grade, children participate in a Worship Readiness class that prepares them to participate in the entire worship service with the rest of the congregation.
Elementary age children also have fellowship and learning opportunities once a month, as well as other special events during Advent, Lent and the summer.

Baptism

When a child is baptized in the Presbyterian Church, members of the congregation promise to be involved in the child’s Christian nurturing. Through a variety of programs, dedicated adults take serious this promise, by providing children in the congregation the tools required for understanding what it means to be The Church.
