Fellowship and Care Ministry
Carol Griffith and Tammy Baxley
In addition to proviing spiritual care to one another, we invite the unchurched into a new life in Christ, and we assimilate new members into the life and ministry of the church. We believe that we are called to love one another. The fellowship area of this ministry is responsible for fellowship activities in the life of this church. Please see the main "Fellowship" menu to your left for more information.

PRAYER
A central part of our church’s life revolves around prayer. We believe that Christ’s followers are called to support each other in prayer. In order to fulfill this high calling we have several ways in which we pray for each other.

The Prayer Chain is made up of member volunteers who are divided into groups to pray regularly for members with special needs. A coordinator starts the chain, which continues until everyone is contacted. Prayer requests are made through the church office.
PRAYER LINKS: “Everyone Prayed for by Name Everyday” – Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church strives to be a church where every member is prayed for by name everyday. You will receive a postcard every two months listing a church family to pray for during those months. Members are encouraged to pray for their prayer links each day. A few minutes each day to pray for someone is a blessing and there are no special skills required – the Lord hears all of our prayers no matter how they are spoken or thought. You are encouraged to call your prayer link or send them a note letting them know that you are praying for them.

OUTREACH
Everything we do is an opportunity for outreach, but many members want to become involved in a more formal way to further our mission – “To Know Christ and Make Him Known.” Those with the gift of hospitality and the ability to share ones faith in whatever way is comfortable are needed.
VISITATION OF VISITORS TEAM: Our visitation team goes to the homes of visitors on a regular basis with information about Seven Oaks and a loaf of home-baked bread.
HOSPITAL VISITATION: The pastoral staff regularly visits hospitalized church members and families in need.
SEVEN OAKS SHUT-IN VISITATION COMMITTEE: The Team is comprised of people who have volunteered to provide hands-on-care to shut-in members in need. Volunteers make their vocational and avocational skills available to be used as a resource when a specific need arises. Transportation, minor repairs, advice, and ministry of presence are a few examples of what the Team does. The Shut-in Visitation Committee Chairman contacts volunteers as needs arise and members, who have a need, can contact the Chairman or the church office.
ASSIMILATION
The Congregational Care Ministry assists all members, especially new members, in finding their place in the fellowship and ministry of Seven Oaks. We believe that God calls us to become active participants in the life of the church.
ORIENTATION/INQUIRERS CLASS: Several times a year, Orientation/New Member Classes are scheduled for visitors, new members or others who have an interest in learning more about the Presbyterian Church (USA) and Seven Oaks in particular. The classes are held during the Sunday school hour. Look for announcements in the bulletin and Newsletter or ask for the schedule in the church office.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails........................ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.".
1 Corinthians 13 4:13
