GOOD NEWS: How Is It Shared?
"Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him." Mark 1:3b
"We are therefore ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us." 2 Corinthians 20a
Sharing the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ with others occurs when every church member has an active, prayer-guided concern for the well-being of others. This concern is publicly expressed in church ministries that serve the material and spritual needs of our neighbors and in the hospitality offered to all who enter our campus. In our personal lives, this concern means building relationships with others by bringing them one step closer to a relationshiop with God. Within these relationshiops, we are able to share the "good news" of how God's grace is transforming our lives and the world. Aware of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives and the lives of others, this sharing is done with humility. The salvation we declare is not only something we look for in the life to come, but is experienced in the here-and-now, where we encounter the undying love of God revealed in our Savior Jesus Christ. Through this love, we realize that we are not saved to be be isolated individuals, but rather to be members of the joyful community of God's people.
